About 6,770 feet up in Ponderosa pine forest. Summer afternoons in the 80s, snow in the winter. Kaibab National Forest surrounds the town, with Bill Williams Mountain behind it and stocked lakes nearby.
The South Rim entrance is about 60 miles north, and the Grand Canyon Railway runs from the historic depot in town. Williams was the last Route 66 town bypassed by I-40, so the walkable downtown is still intact.
